What We Do

02. Educate & Inform

Educate & Inform

Voter education means providing citizens of a democracy with basic information about participating in elections. Voter education is often provided by private institutions that may have special interest in a particular outcome that is not shared by the community at large, so it is therefore important that local, politically non-partisan organizations and bodies are involved in educating their communities.

Let's Vote DeKalb was created to do the following:

  • Educating people about the importance of voting as an act of civic engagement.

  • Spread information about the voting process, right from voter registration to polling venues and important dates.

  • Reduce voter participation gaps and motivating communities with a history of poor turnout to vote.

  • Pre-register young voters to increase future participation.

Active voter education ensures the best possible outcome in local, state and federal races. Through the combined efforts of our partners Let's Vote DeKalb distributes educational materials and hosts community forums, and mobilization meetings as a part of our educational initiatives.

Through grassroots initiatives, print material, online resources, including VOTE411.org, we equip voters with essential information about the election process, including polling place hours and locations, ballot information, early or absentee voting rules, voter registration deadlines, ID requirements and more.

60 Years of Voting  The Struggle Continues

Never Underestimate The Power of Education

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” “The power of educationextends beyond the development of skills we need for economic success. It can contribute to nation-building and reconciliation.”
